Fire Operations in the Wildland Urban Interface- Hosted by The Novato Fire Protection District
Service Description
Course Length: 3 Days *A California State Fire Training certificate will be issued for this course. This is an instructor-led course intended to help students operate safely and effectively in a wildland urban interface incident by using situation awareness, performing structure triage, using pre-planning tools, having a basic understanding of fire behavior, and using strategy and tactics unique to the wildland urban interface environment. Instructional units include firefighter safety in the interface, managing human factors in the interface, pre-incident planning, sizeup and initial strategy, structure triage, structure protection overview, tactics in the interface, tactical operations and resource use in the interface, action assessment, plan update, and after action reviews. Prerequisites: Qualified as a NWCG Firefighter Type 1
Cancellation Policy
To cancel your registration and receive a refund you need to contact SS Fire Training 35-calendar days prior to the first day of the class. A $15 refund processing fee will be deducted from the total refund amount for each class canceled. However, if you cancel your registration within 30-calendar days of the first day of class you can carryover your registration towards any class we offer now or in the future. You will not lose your class registration. Just contact us to cancel and/or to apply your cancelled registration towards another SS Fire Training class.
